Cogolin, France -- Rest Day
When we woke up in the tent this morning, it was really nice to know we had nowhere to go and no reason to pack up. We went around the “tent” figuring out what everyone wanted to do for the day. Surprisingly, Dex and Kylie included reading and writing -- really? Also on the list was doing laundry (Meg), patching tubes and watching the Sweden vs. Ireland match (Dean), and, of course, going swimming and playing on the phones (guess who).
The pools here are really, really nice...and there are still hardly any people. I keep wondering when that will change. My guess is July.
We are hearing some German and Dutch amongst the French. It was awesome to hear a cute little English kid, talking to his even younger brother, “Jump in again, you look so clever.”
The highlight of the day was definitely the pool. We played Marco Polo, threw the frisbee, and took advantage of the slides. Awesome.
The flats yesterday got me worried about not having replaced our front tires before we left. At 2:00, I headed out to the one bike store in town. I splurged and bought a couple beefy 1.75” wide tires, two new tubes, a pump for Meg (packing oversight) and another tube of patch glue. Better safe than sorry. I also got a chance to take a couple pictures in town; the old part looks like it belongs in Disneyland.
We finished up the night with a game of Farkle, wood fired pizza, and another round of ice cream. Not a bad day.

That pool slide looks amazing, glad to see you all look happy and healthy.
