Stockholm, Sweden -- Day 3
Hi, Kylie here. Now that we are off the bikes, I feel like we are traveling luxuriously: 1) we don’t have to work much to get from point A to point B, 2) we get multiple rest days in-between destinations, 3) we aren’t sleeping in a tent, and 4) we get to our hotel earlier in the day.

This is our third day in Stockholm, Sweden, and we decided as a family to go to the Moderna Museet art museum. I especially enjoyed Salvador Dali’s paintings of dream-like people, animals, and plants. It turned out that we only were at the art museum around two hours.

After the museum, Mom suggested we go to the park. On the way, we saw a whole bunch of old boats docked at the harbor with informational plaques. Many of the boats were over a hundred years old, had been made in other countries, and had been owned by 3, 4, or 5 people.
Our tummy’s interrupted us, and we found a hamburger cart to fill ourselves up.
Then, with full stomachs, we found a shaded biking-hiking trail near the water. Dex spotted a canoe rental stand. After a little family discussion, we were in canoes and on our way!
Mom and I were a team and Dex and Dad were in a different canoe. With a tailwind for the start, it seemed simple, but once we turned around, it got very difficult. Sometimes when motorboats went by, there would be larger waves that bounced the canoe around or rocked us roughly. We all made it; yes, with sore arms, but we made it.

Another well written post Kylie - guess what, "Aunt" Jody has a Salvador Dali - not as big as you saw in the museum but a Dali all the same. If you make your way to Chicago I will be sure to point it out to you. Glad you are all having such a great time - Love to you all XOXOXOX Aunt Jody
ReplyDeleteKylie, I really enjoyed reading about your trip to the museum and cabbie trip! I recently got a kayak and I really understand what you meant about sore arms! What a great way to see the town from a different angle though!
