Today after Mom and Dad asked Kylie and me to pack, I went down stairs and made eggs for breakfast -- just like each morning since we've been here. When Cole got up, we gathered all our stuff, figured out who could take what bag, and said good bye to our Air BnB. I ended up pushing Cole in the stroller, "woohoo." He couldn't stop talking about the big train we'd be going on. After 15 minutes, we got to the Tube station.
IT WAS CLOSED! The station attendant told us the fastest way to Kings Cross Station was to take the "replacement bus." It would supposedly go to the same stops as the train. When we got on the bus, we soon realized that we where in a bit of a time crunch because we would have to take yet another bus on top of this one. Ten minutes later, we got off, and Mike rang an Uber taxi.
In two minutes the taxi showed up, but the driver was not ready for seven of us and all our bags. Luckily, he let us in. Well, he didn't really have time to say no because we all crammed into the five remaining seats. We only had 15 minutes to spare. The driver was from Romania and looked totally freaked out. He said if the police caught him, he would lose his license. Along the way we made jokes and laughed, but by the time we where halfway, it was clear we wouldn't make it.
When we got to the train station we paid the taxi driver a nice big tip. Even though we got to the train station one minute late, a nice station attendant gave us a card saying we got there one minute before, so our tickets would be less expensive to change.
While Dad was getting new tickets, Mike and I were talked about the crazy cab ride. Then Mike got a worried look on his face. He asked when I'd last seen his phone. I said back at home, which probably was not the answer he was looking for.
Mike went off to borrow Dad's phone, and after calling his, decided the phone was lost. He called the Uber driver, and luckily the phone was in the cab. Even more luckily, the driver said he would bring it right back.
A few minutes later, Mike had his phone and it was time to pack up for the new train. We made it through security fine and when we got on the train, I got to sit next to Ely. We talked about our favorite things we did in London.
When we got to Paris, a man in a big, black Mercedes van was waiting to take us to our new air BnB. The cleaning woman let us in. Kylie's and my room was cool and had lots of toys. We decided to lay low until dinner, which was okay at a falafel place. On the way, Mike let us try Pokemon Go again, and it was pretty of fun.
After dinner, we went to Notre Dame. Since the sun was still shining, the stained glass windows were really bright and pretty. There was a mass going on, so we got to hear the choir and the gigantic pipe organ.
On the way back home, I convinced Mom to get a treat, so we stopped at an ice cream-cream shop. Mom got a bombing crepe, and I got ice-cream. The weird thing was they told us to order by size not flavor. When it was my turn, the women at the counter asked me how many flavors I wanted. I said three, and then she made a pretty flower. It was great.
