London Day Three -- Yipee

London, England -- Day 3

Hi, it's Kylie. It feels good to have friends in the house, namely Mike, Ely and their two year old son, Cole.  It's been really fun having him around.  When ever he sees someone on a bike he either calls out "good guy!" or "bad guy!" depending on whether or not they have a helmet on.

To start the day, we all decided to go for a walk through Hyde Park, and it was lovely.  It wasn't too cold or too hot, and there was a nice wind.  Just right.

After following the winding trail, we got close to a lake where we could rent paddle boats.  It was not high on Mike and Ely's to do list but apparently very high on Cole's. While Dex and I tried to distract him from the water and the boats, we passed a playground and thought that might do the trick.

We went inside, and I started talking enthusiastically about how a tiger was coming and how we needed to get some place high so he could not get us!  Phew!  It worked.  The imaginary tiger chased us all over, which cheered Cole up.  Now, with everybody happy-hearted, we went on with our plans to explore a big store called Harrods.

Harrods looked like a big department store but with bigger rooms and fancier items.  One gift basket Dad showed us cost 500 pounds ($670)!  The ceiling had colorful patterns and fancy chandeliers, and each room was decorated differently.  We started to explore one of the food rooms with Mike.  It was really cool!

Mike spotted something called Tiger's Milk, which he bought to show Cole (since tigers are his favorite animal.) Mike took a swig and nearly spit it out.  He swallowed and then suggested the rest of us take a teeny, tiny sip. I did and understood -- it was so, so salty. A moment later the clerk started laughing and explained to us that it was actually a fish sauce, not a drink.  For the rest of the time we filled ourselves up with other foods -- dates, mochi, cherries, shrimp, quiche, muffins and more.

We made our way back to the house, and for the rest of the day, relaxed and played.  For dinner we ate at a nearby Indian food restaurant.  Mike showed us how to catch Pokemons, which was lots of fun.
