To Thirroul, NSW, Australia -- February 4-5
I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but we once again had a very relaxed morning. Just a two minute walk from the caravan park was a wide stretch of beautiful beach. Once there, we couldn't resist going in and playing in the waves. Even Meg eventually relented in the early morning heat and came in despite not having her swim suit on.
The special treat for the day was getting to meet up once again with our good friend Cameron. We had last met in Norway in August. Despite having grown up and spent most of his life in Australia, Cam now spends the majority of the year in Norway with his partner Jan, making do with just a couple months in the glorious Australian sun.
We drove up the coast to the small town of Thirroul and met Cam on the beach. There we said our hellos and played once again in the waves with Cam instructing us on the intricacies of body surfing.
Sufficiently tired, we made a quick stop at a bakery for pastries and pies, then headed up the hill to the beautiful house (and pool) where Cam has been staying with friends, Juliet and Peter.

To our delight, Peter and Juliet graciously invited us to spend the night, despite the fact that the oldest daughter had just returned home from college, a German exchange student had just arrived last week, and Cam was already in the downstairs bedroom. So incredibly kind.
In the morning, we shared a fantastic breakfast before another beach run. Cam's body surfing lessons were starting to pay off. Most of the day was spent at beach as our red skin attested. Guess we should have reapplied the sun screen.
Lovely, wonderful blue beaches, are a welcome site.
